British Red Cross

For 138 years, one British charity has been committed to helping those caught up humanitarian crises, no matter where they are: The Red Cross.

Although much of their work is abroad, the British Red Cross have a strong presence right here in the UK. Volunteers are regularly on hand to help communities affected by floods and fires, aid those in need of social care after illness or bereavement, and provide support to refugees displaced by unrest in their home countries.

Around the world, Red Cross workers are an aid force for those caught up in internal conflict or natural disasters. Aside from being a presence in the aftermath of these events, they work to educate and prevent the spread of diseases such as HIV and tuberculosis, as well helping to provide clean water for communities without this basic need.

How the charity works

Currently, millions of Ethiopians are facing a food crisis due to drought and inflation. For just £15, you could provide 40 thousand litres of clean drinking water. Just £33 could feed a family of 5 for a month. It doesn’t take much to change someone’s life, and you can give with a single donation or make a regular gift with Payroll Giving. You can even give when you use eBay!
